Julie Christie will star in "Dadah Is Death," a four-hour CBS-TV miniseries about an Australian mother's international campaign to save her son from a mandatory death sentence for smuggling drugs in Malaysia.

"Dadah Is Death," directed by Jerry Lonon, is based on the true story of Kevin Barlow, who became involved in drug trafficking and was sentenced to hang.Scheduled for broadcast Oct. 30-31, the drama represents Christie's miniseries debut.

- Connie Stevens will star in a new syndicated situation comedy, "Starting From Scratch." Co-starring in the half-hour sitcom will be Bill Daily, former co-star of the old "Bob Newhart Show."
