A cab driver who called himself "Santa Claus" has pleaded not guilty to sexually abusing a child.

Eugene C. Reiners, 67, who is charged with two counts of sodomy upon a child and two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, pleaded not guilty before 3rd District Judge Homer Wilkinson, who scheduled a trial for June 27.

Reiners is accused of taking a 5-year-old boy to Reiners' home and forcing him to perform acts of sodomy, according to a criminal complaint. He is also accused of taking nude photographs of the boy.

Prosecutors allege the crimes occurred during the 1986-87 school year while Reiners, who wore a long white beard and told children he was "Santa Claus," was driving a cab route that included a school for handicapped children.
