Dale Gunther, a senior vice president with Bank of American Fork ince 1980, has been elected president.
He will replace Glen Anderson who recently retired.A graduate of Brigham Young University and the Pacific Coast Banking School, Gunther has served on the bank's board since 1971 and held several positions before being named senior vice president in 1980.
He said Bank of American Fork is a community bank with a "conservative philosophy" of concentrating on a local base of customers and not expanding into a multi-branch institution or foreign investment.
"Because we are a community bank, one that is locally owned, insured by the FDIC and not affiliated with any bank holding company, we have been able to resist the get-rich-quicker formulas that have enticed others in our business," Gunther said.
"In addition, I am surrounded by very capable people who are also friends that work at the bank with me. We enjoy each other, our customers and the work we do together. That is what makes us strong."
