The Utah Retail Grocers Association has elected Wilbur Stephenson, owner of Wil's Foodland in Spanish Fork, as chairman of its board of directors, and Art Tremblay, Utah zone manager for Southland Corp.'s 7-Eleven stores, as chairman of the newly created Utah Association of Convenience Stores.
Elections were held at the organization's annual meeting this month.Officers elected to URGA's executive committee include chairman-elect Daniel Parris, Dan's Foods; vice chairwoman Doris Smith, Food 4 Less; secretary/treasurer Jack Steadman, Ream's Food Stores; and immediate past chairman Phil Barber, Winegar's Supermarket.
Elected as a new director on the board was Peter Barth of Smith's Management Corp.
Other URGA board members for 1988-89 are Steve Allen, Allen's Super Save; Don Cannon, Farmer Jack Stores; Kirk Hunsaker, Day's Markets Inc.; Ray Orton, Lin's Thriftways; Terrel Seely, Terrel's Foodtown; Art Tremblay, 7-Eleven Stores; Kent Wangsgard, Kar Kwik; and Tom Winegar, Tom Winegar's Thriftway.
Elected as officers to the convenience store association are chairman Scott Vincent, Flying J; vice chairman Darwin Sorenson, Holiday Oil; and secretary/treasurer Brent Lowe, Chevron.
