***Clint Eastwood will begin principal photography on the action-adventure drama "Pink Cadillac" for his Malpaso Productions Oct. 3 on locations in Reno, Nev.

Eastwood will portray Tommy Novak, a professional fugitive hunter, in the film to be directed by Buddy Van Horn, who previously directed Eastwood in "The Dead Pool" and "Any Which Way You Can."Scheduled to be filmed entirely in Nevada and Northern California, "Pink Cadillac" will be produced by David Valdes, who produced Eastwood's picture, "Bird."

***NBC has selected seven pairs of identical twin girls as finalists to play the Wakefield twins in "Francine Pascal's Sweet Valley High," a two-hour prime-time network family special.

The twins, winnowed from 3,000 entrants, are currently undergoing screen tests for the special, which also will act as a series pilot for NBC.

The show is based on author Francine Pascal's "Sweet Valley High" series of books, which have sold more than 30 million copies since they were first published in 1983.

***A trust fund has been established for the children of Jaco Pastorius, Weather Report's electric bass virtuoso who was beaten and died earlier this year.
