A Murray woman was sexually assaulted Sunday night by a man in a sewer-cleaning service van, police said.

The 20-year-old woman told police she had been talking to a friend at a pay phone at a convenience store, lamenting that her husband had taken her 10-month-old baby and would never return. When she hung up the phone, a man approached her saying he knew her husband. "Get in and I'll help you get your baby," he said, according to a police report. The woman said she did not know the man had been listening to her phone conversation and assumed he knew her husband. She got in the van and was taken to Fifth South and Fifth West where she was sexually assaulted, the report said. She later escaped and flagged down a passer-by who took her to the police station.
