A Delta Air Lines plane en route from Salt Lake City to Portland with 70 people aboard made an emergency landing without incident Monday night, officials said.
The Boeing 757 with 63 passengers and a crew of seven landed at 10:29 p.m. at Portland International Airport. The airplane experienced a hydraulic failure affecting its left brakes, flaps and landing gear, but the crew corrected the problem about five miles from the airport.
Delta Flight 725 originated in Fort Meyers, Fla., and made stops in Orlando, Dallas and Salt Lake City on the way to Portland.
It was the second time in a month that a Delta jet made an emergency landing in Portland. On March 20, a Delta Boeing 727 with 78 people aboard landed on two sets of wheels after a landing gear failed to drop into position as the airplane made its final approach on a flight from Salt Lake City.
