A Sandy woman is scheduled for an Oct. 5 arraignment on charges of drunken driving and vehicle homicide in the death of a University of Utah student.

Carol Forbush, 55, no address given, is charged in the June 27 death of Bruce McClain, 225 E. Second South.A 3rd Circuit Court complaint filed Monday says Forbush had a .27 blood-alcohol content at the time of the accident at 5808 S. State. A person with a .08 blood-alcohol level is considered legally intoxicated.

Prosecutors say Forbush was traveling south on State Street in a van about 5 p.m. and crossed the raised median into the northbound lanes. Three vehicles traveling north were hit, injuring four people and killing McClain.

The arraignment is set before Judge Philip Palmer in Murray Circuit Court. Forbush has been released from jail pending outcome of the criminal proceedings.
