A Hoytsville man was arrested after police discovered about eight pounds of marijuana in his home and automobile.

Park City Police Detective Pat Pirraglio said John J. Murphy, 39, was arrested Tuesday and was being held in the Summit County Jail pending arraignment Sept. 27 on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and distribution of a controlled substance for value.Pirraglio said the charges stem from a Park City drug transaction that led officers to the Hoytsville residence. Park City police and Summit County deputy sheriffs obtained a search warrant late Tuesday and combed the residence.
