The Provo/Orem Chapter of the Utah Music Teachers Association has installed its new officers for the next two years.

Those who will lead the group are: Bonnie Croft, president; Katherine Rosenvall, vice president for publicity; Nancy Diel, vice president for programs; Deanne Williams, secretary-treasurer; Ann Cox, student achievement; and Genniel Dixon, magazine representative.Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 8 p.m. at Keith Jorgenson Music, across from Deseret Book in the University Mall.

The first meeting on Sept. 13 will focus on the Suzuki and Yamaha methods of teaching, and is open to anyone interested in joining the group. New members may join at the first meeting, or call Croft or other officers for information. Refreshments will be served and keyboards will be available to inspect after the meeting.

The association's purpose is to foster well-rounded music education among all private music students by encouraging study of performance, ear training, music theory, sight reading and history. Student Achievement is an evaluation of each student's progress on various graded levels, simultaneously serving as a motivating goal and reward for musical effort.
