An infant girl who suffered severe head injuries Sunday remained in critical condition Thursday as Salt Lake police detectives continued investigating the incident as child abuse.

Temesha Harrison, 6 months, was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center about 7 p.m. Sunday by her father, who told police the child had fallen off the couch.Doctors, however, told officers the child was a victim of abuse and suffered numerous blows to the head, resulting in bleeding and swelling of the brain, a skull fracture and blood clots.
