Britain ordered the explusion of three Czech diplomats Thursday, including two military attaches, for engaging in "activities incompatible with their status."

The terse announcement by the Foreign Office was couched in the diplomatic parlance for spying. The statement said the Czechoslovak ambassador, Jan Fidler, was summoned to the Foreign Office Thursday morning and told the three must leave Britain within 14 days.

Britain last expelled Czech diplomats in 1984 when two were ordered out, and Communist Czechoslovakia expelled two diplomats in retaliation.

Two other Czech diplomats had been ordered out the previous year.
