Southern Utah State College tailback Kelvin Minefee has been named Western Football Conference Player of the Week after leading the Thunderbirds to a 42-28 victory over Mesa College.

Minefee, a junior from Las Vegas, carried 21 times for 253 yards. It was the second-highest single-game total in school history. He scored three touchdowns, including one on an NCAA Division II national record 99-yard run from scrimmage.
