Ninety-five infants who lost their lives to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome will be remembered in an Oct. 8 ceremony at Tanner Park, 2760 S. 27th East.

Trees will be planted for each of the infants at the noon ceremony.Featured speakers will be Rep. Wayne Owens, D-Utah, and President Thomas S. Monson of the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

SIDS, known to many as "crib death," is the leading cause of death among infants after the first week of life. It is unpredictable and unpreventable, and there are no symptoms. SIDS claims 85 to 100 babies in Utah each year.
