A small fire in Ogden burned not only weeds and brush Saturday night but also the body of an unidentified male found when a passing motorist stopped to investigate the blaze, an Ogden police official said.
The charred body of a white male, the victim of a probable homicide, was found Saturday about 7:30 p.m. near 200 W. 3150 South in a two-square-mile "transient area," Lt. Chuck Buzick said."Most likely, he was one of the inhabitants of that area," Buzick said.
A small grass fire had apparently been ablaze for some time before a passer-by stopped to extinguish it, Buzick said.
"The motorist observed a fire and went down to see what was going on and saw the body," he said.
Police have no motive or suspects in the incident, but "it's being investigated as a homicide until we can determine otherwise."
