A 30-year-old Wisconsin man was sentenced to five days in jail Tuesday for selling Olympic tickets at a $33 profit, police said.

James K. Rush of Madison was the first person to be jailed for scalping Olympic tickets, police said. He was caught Monday selling five tickets for a diving event for a profit totaling 24,000 won ($33.33), they said.In South Korea, it is illegal to resell tickets at prices higher than face value at places of public entertainment, stadiums or transit centers. The maximum penalty for such offenses is 30 days in jail.
