City Council members are singing songs of praise of the Jordan School District following a district announcement that $6,000 will be donated toward construction of a sidewalk to serve students attending Jordan Ridge Elementary at 98th South and 27th West.
The council has often been critical of the school district, saying cooperation on some efforts has been less than was needed.Councilman Ted Sandstrom led the chorus of praise. "I've criticized the lack of cooperation in the past, I've probably been the most critical of the district, but I think we need to express thanks at this time."
The sidewalk project will include building 6-foot-wide asphalt walking paths through fields serving the Chatel No. 4 subdivision. The project will also complete the sidewalk link on 98th South from 22nd West to 27th West.
