The Cache County Council has agreed to appoint a transit advisory committee to help the Utah Transit Authority prepare for the November ballot question on whether bus service will come to the county.

UTA spokesman Alan H. Miner told the council Tuesday night that a similar committee proved helpful before a successful vote in the Provo-Orem area several years ago.A vote for UTA would mean increasing the county's sales tax by one-quarter of a cent. UTA officials have said up to $800,000 could be raised and the money could be used to provide inexpensive transportation from Logan to Salt Lake City, throughout Logan and between Logan and other Cache County communities.
