Davis School District's Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center has been awarded a contract to provide custodial services for a building at Hill Air Force Base.

The contract will provide employment for disabled people at Building 1400 at the base.The rehabilitation center provides special training and meaningful employment to people with severe disabilities in a supported environment. The center is providing janitorial services for Building 1299 on base and is expecting to expand into new buildings now under construction. In addition, the center places approximately 50 disabled people per year in employment in the community and serves more than 250 in sheltered employment programs.

The program was announced following official notification from the National Industries for the Severely Handicapped, based in Vienna, Va. The group is a nonprofit organization established by the President's Committee for Purchase from the Blind and Other Severely Handicapped to help sheltered work centers obtain federal government contracts.
