Gentner Electronics Corp. of Salt Lake City, a company manufacturing communications equipment for broadcast, sound contracting and teleconferencing, has acquired Texar Inc. of Monroeville, Pa., a manufacturer of audio processing equipment for broadcast facilities.

Gentner president Russell Gentner said it was a cash transaction. All Texar operations will be moved to Gentner's Salt Lake City plant and the Monroeville office permanently closed. The product line will continue to carry the Texar name.He said the sales of Texar products will increase the corporation's projected sales and earnings for fiscal year 1989.
