Former Memphis State basketball coach Dana Kirk got unreported salary bonuses from a university booster club and worked numerous deals for extra income that he avoided reporting to the Internal Revenue Service, a federal prosecutor said.

U.S. Attorney Hickman Ewing Jr., decribing Kirk as "a man who constantly had his hand out to make money," also told a federal court jury that Kirk gave money to former Memphis State center Keith Lee, who led the Tigers into the national rankings.Kirk, 53, is on trial on charges of tax evasion, reporting false tax statements and obstruction of justice.
