A 42-year-old mother of seven and her 18-year-old daughter took top honors in the inaugural Mother/Daughter Utah Pageant.

Janet Little Seamons and Brooke Seamons, Bountiful, won round-trip air fares, accommodations, two original evening gowns and other gifts.Pamela Cox, 40, and Amy Noe'le Cox, 18, St. George, were named first runners-up during the competition held Saturday night in the Salt Palace Little Theater. Marie Boyer, 38, and Valerie Boyer, 16, were named second runners-up.

The Seamonses will compete in the national contest this January at Universal Studios in Southern California.

"Utah didn't have a mother-daughter pageant. It's been a national competition for about 10 years," said organizer Kay Ellison. The contest is "different than any other pageant - no other pageant has these types of feelings."
