A free medical clinic for Ogden's homeless and transient population will open its doors Thursday.
Dr. Floyd Seager, the clinic's founder, said a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at Ogden's Rescue Mission on Wall Ave.He said the clinic will be open weekdays from 3 to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
Seager said about 110 people have volunteered their services, including doctors and nurses.
"As of now, we're ready to go," Seager said. "I couldn't be happier."
Not only will the clients receive medical treatment for their ailments, Seager said, but the clinic will practice preventive medicine like giving flu shots and children's immunizations. Hearing and eye tests will also be provided and medication dispensed.
The doctor said McKay-Dee Hospital officials have agreed to help out by providing beds, lab and X-ray facilities.
