Friday is Citizenship Day at Defense Depot Ogden as the federal facility continues to celebrate the bicentennial of the Constitution. A year ago, the bicentennial was marked with a major celebration, and Navy Capt. A.P. Tully, depot commander, decided to continue it.

"In keeping with the spirit of the Constitutional bicentennial celebration, I am declaring Sept. 16 Citizenship Day at Defense Depot Ogden," said Tully. The actual anniversary is Saturday, so the celebration was moved back one day to coincide with a working day."On this day closest to the 201st anniversary of the Constitution, I encourage all employees to continue the bicentennial observance by pausing to reflect on the reasons we are celebrating," Tully said.

"This is a special time for Americans as we pay tribute to the oldest instrument of government in the world. Millions of people around the world look to us for leadership. They are envious of the rights and freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution," said Tully.
