Soldiers shot and wounded at least five Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip on Thursday, a day after two Arabs were killed in the Israeli-occupied territories and at least 21 others were wounded, Palestinian sources said.
Violence erupted for the second straight day in the Gaza City neighborhood of Zaitun. On Wednesday evening, a patrol commander opened fire on Palestinian demonstrators after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at his unit's jeep, military sources said. Soldiers searched the area and found the body of a young Palestinian.Rami Abu Samara, 10, died after he was shot in the head, Palestinian sources said. At least 253 Palestinians and three Israelis have died during the 9-month-old Palestinian uprising.
