Voters in Fruit Heights overwhelmingly approved a $250,000 bond issue Tuesday. The money will be used to improve the city's storm drain runoff and detention system.

Of the 466 votes, 389 were for and 77 against the proposal.City Manager Belva Provost attributed the margin of approval to a town meeting in which the bond proposal was explained in detail and questions answered, in addition to a city newsletter published on the proposal.
