The king of the South Pacific island nation of Tonga was hospitalized Wednesday with a suspected broken hip after a car accident on the outskirts of Sydney, officials said.

Peter Collins, health minister for the state of New South Wales, confirmed that King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV and some Tongan and Australian officials were injured - none of them seriously - in the motorcade accident.Collins said the multiple-car accident occurred on a freeway linking the western suburb of Parramatta and Sydney at 11 a.m.
