Evans and Sutherland Computer Co. has received $5 million in orders from General Dynamics Corp., Ft. Worth, Texas, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Langley Research Center, Hampton, Va., for wide field-of-view projection systems and modified high-intensity light valve projectors.Company officials said this is the first large order announced by the Simulation Division for equipment other than computer image generation systems and indicates an expansion to provide more applications for computer image systems.

Evans and Sutherland designs, builds and sells special purpose digital computers, which are used to create visual images of data bases stored in computer memory. These systems are used for computer-aided engineering and design, training simulation, engineering simulation, scientific research, education, graphic arts and entertainment.
