Authorities are still searching for an area woman, Beulah "Boots" Lyle, who has been missing since Aug. 28, the day her abandoned car was found in Richfield.
The search for the woman who, along with her husband, Jim, has operated an Indian jewelry store in Panguitch for years, began after her 1972 Cadillac was found hours after she had purchased gasoline in Moab.Lyle was seen in Richfield, but police are uncertain of what she did after leaving Moab. Some family members believed she may have stopped to hike in Capitol Reef National Park on her way home from a vacation in Colorado.
A search was conducted at the park as well as in other areas throughout the state without success. Flyers with Lyle's description have also been distributed throughout the state.
Lyle is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, about 190 pounds, with nearly black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black pants, a flowered blouse and a black jacket.
The Sevier County sheriff's office is in charge of the search, and is being assisted by the Garfield County sheriff's office.
