Work to widen and improve Wasatch Boulevard will continue to cause significant traffic problems until the project is completed in September.

The $1.2 million project will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction, snarling commuter traffic to and from the University of Utah. The section from Foothill Drive to Medical Drive will be changed to accommodate wider traffic lanes, plus a center turn lane and emergency lanes. From Medical Drive to North Campus Drive the road will remain basically the same width.

The project also includes improvements to the intersection of Wasatch and Pollock Road, and access to Fort Douglas.
