The USS Boulder landing craft ran aground Tuesday off central Norway during a NATO exercise, spewing about 880 gallons of diesel oil into the Norwegian Sea, the Allied Press and Information Center said.

No one was reported injured in the accident northeast of Froeya island. It occurred at 2 a.m during the nine-nation Teamwork '88 land and sea maneuver involving 45,000 soldiers, the center said.A Norwegian tug was steaming to the scene to help free the ship.
