To the editor:
I would like to point out some misinformation that was printed in a letter to the editor, Aug. 31.Greg Beesley, representing the Tax Coalition of Utah, was fed some inaccurate information regarding a recent teleconference meeting held by President Stan Cazier and the University Cooperative Extension staff.
I attended that meeting It was to educate USU Extension employees of possible cuts to the university, not to influence their voting preference.
President Cazier pointed out the impact these cuts would have on USU and Cooperative Extension. Because the cuts are severe enough to affect both programming and personnel, we as Extension people have the right to discuss what changes may have to be made.
When cuts may come, employees should have the right to know, to share their concerns with others, and to even voice an opinion based on the facts given.
