Utah's federal courtrooms were the focus of attention by litigants from six Western states Tuesday as the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals began one of its rare periodic meetings in Salt Lake City.

The 10th Circuit resolves appeals of federal, civil and criminal law cases filed in Utah, Wyoming, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma. The administrator for the appeals court said it has been three years since the judges visited Salt Lake City.The judges used the courtrooms of Utah Judges Bruce S. Jenkins, J. Thomas Greene and David K. Winder.

The appeals judges will be in Salt Lake City through Thursday.
