More than 50 Utah post offices will extend their retail window service hours beginning Saturday, according to Dennis J. Yuhl, Salt Lake City Division postmaster and general manager.

The changes follow the announcement by Postmaster General Anthony Frank that that Postal Service will restore service and still comply with congressionally ordered operating cuts to funding of $160 million for 1988 and $270 million for 1989."We are happy we can expand our hours and we'd like to express gratitude to our customers for their patience during the past few months when window hours were curtailed," Yuhl said.
