Kurt Russell has had plenty of successes in his career - starting as a child actor in Disney movies, right through to his new firefighting story "Backdraft." But he hasn't forgotten one particular role he didn't get - the part of Crash Davis in "Bull Durham." Writer-director Ron Shelton, who is a former minor league baseball player like Russell, wanted Russell for the part but couldn't find a studio to back the movie until Kevin Costner was eventually given the lead. Russell says that was "the only time in my acting life that I was truly shocked."
