Teachers in the Sevier School District will work 182 contract days under the new calendar adopted by the board of education for the 1991-92 school year. In addition, five career ladder days are scheduled.
Students will attend school 180 days, beginning Aug. 26, and concluding May 28. Teachers will stay in the schoolroom for one additional day.The board will continue a policy of rotating meeting locations, holding one at each school and one at the district office during the year. All meetings will begin at 3 p.m. unless otherwise announced.
Teachers will report to the classrooms Aug. 19 and may work through Aug. 23. One day will be spent in in-service preparation and curriculum development as a contract day. Four days will be allowed for special projects credit to the career ladder program.
School recesses will include Sept. 2, Labor Day; Oct. 10 and 11, Utah Education Association convention; Oct. 21, fall vacation; Nov. 28 and 29, Thanksgiving; Dec. 23 through Jan. 1, Christmas and News Years Holidays; Jan. 20, midwinter institute (career ladder day for teachers); Feb. 17, President's Day; April 16 and 17, spring break; and May 25, Memorial Day.
