United Press International employees are being asked for a third time to work at reduced pay to help keep the company afloat until it is sold.

Under a formula submitted to Wire Service Guild members, the wage cut would amount to 25 percent of pay until July 13, when it would drop to 20 percent. The plan calls for full pay on Sept. 14 or whenever the wire service is sold.

UPI staffers have not received full pay since November, when they agreed to a 35 percent wage cut for 90 days. That was followed by a 30 percent wage reduction still in effect.
