Leone Rogers, retired manager of operator services for US WEST Communications, has been named woman of the year by the Wasatch chapter of the American Business Women's Association.

During her retirement, Rogers has been active in the Literacy Action Center, supporting its tutoring program for adults who cannot read at the high school level. She also volunteers more than 800 hours annually as the manager of the pioneer store at US WEST, which she established in 1984.She is eligible to compete for national honors as one of 10 top women of the year, the announcement of which will be made during the ABWA national convention in November in Las Vegas.
