Our beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, Dante "Dan" August Guido, 65, died May 15, 1991 in Salt Lake City, of cardiac arrest.

Born August 23, 1925, in Magna, Utah to Salvatore Nick and Rosina Falcone Guido. Graduated from South High School in 1941. Served in U.S. Navy during World War II. Married Gloria Rizzuto, December 28, 1948, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Attended University of Utah, where he received a bachelors degree in education and a masters of science degree. Affiliated with Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a prominent educator and administrator with Salt Lake City School District for 36 years. Taught at Riverside, Newman, Northwest, Matheson and Ensign from 1950 to 1969. Principal of both Ensign and Indian Hills Elementaries. When he left the district in 1986, 2,000 people came to his retirement ceremony at Highland High School. Member Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Parish. Member of many professional organizations including Phi Delta Kappa. Served as Vice President of the 49ers Club this past year. Also member of the Footprinters. He loved fishing, bowling and cooking. He had a beautiful tenor voice and entertained many people. He will be most remembered as a friendly man with a wonderful sense of humor, who had a sincere love for children. He was loved by all who knew him.Survived by his wife, Gloria; two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Rosanne) Henderson, Sandy; Mrs. Mike (Dana) Deraedt, Salt Lake City; five grandchildren; Kristen, Lindsay, Scott Henderson, Michelle and Danny Deraedt; two brothers, Tony and Romao Guido. Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Sunday, 7 p.m., St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane, where friends may call Sunday, 5-7 p.m. Committal service 10 a.m., Monday, Mt. Calvary Mausoleum. Funeral Directors: Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary.
