If you are looking for a fun way to spend the day with your family, join the Utah Law Enfrocement Community and Special Olympics at the Battle with the Badges, being held Monday, May 20, 1991, at Draper City Park, 12400 S. 1300 East.
This exciting activity is held to raise money to support Special Olympics and the Special Olympics Torch Run.Everyone is welcome to come and see their local law enforcement officials compete against teams from the community in such events as Hurry-up Softball tug-o-war, water balloon volleyball, Top cop Paint Gun competition and a 5-mile mountain bike race. There is no cost for your team to compete.
There will becarnival games for the kids and a barbecue and drinks. The cost to feed your entire is only $10! The food for the barbecue is being provided in part by Hardees, a sponsor of the Utah Special Olympics and Speical Olympics Torch Run.
The evening will conclude with a huge bonfire and pep rally for the Special Olympic athletes from the Salt lake area who will be goint to the summer games, being held at Brigham Young University, Provo, June 6-8.
Everyone is welcome. The activities and the barbecue begin at 5:30. Show your support for Special Olypics by showing up for this special event.
Other activities and events will include a K-9 Demo, the Salt Lake City Plice Department Race Car, the Sandy City talking police car ant the Salt Lake City Fire Department's "Little Squirt."
