Firefighters work to extinguish flames after a gasoline tanker collided with a car and then plowed into a store early Monday in New York's Bronx borough. Five people were killed and a blaze was ignited in 10 stores. Fire department spokesman Lt. James Powell said the five people who died were believed to have been in the truck, car and possibly one pedestrian. A spokesman for the city's Department of Environmental Protection said foam used to fight the fire appeared to have temporarily contaminated the local water supply.
