Henry Snow Day, a longtime Salt Lake area auto dealer, died of cancer Friday, May 17.
Mr. Day, 77, retired from his dealership in September for health reasons. He began his automotive career as a mechanic at the Poultry City Service in Draper. He operated Ford dealerships in Midvale and Salt Lake City for the past 35 years. For 11 years, Mr. Day sold Studebaker cars and trucks in Draper.Mr. Day was an active supporter of the United Way, the Utah Automobile Dealers Association and the Ford Advertising Association. He was a member of Draper Park and Field and the Draper Lions Club. Mr. Day was an avid sportsman who enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and golfing. He also enjoyed cooking and entertaining.
Funeral services are scheduled Monday, May 20, at 1 p.m. in the Draper 12th Ward, 12300 S. 600 East, Draper. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State, Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment will be in the Draper Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Primary Childrens Medical Center or the Utah Boys Ranch.
