The Department of Housing and Urban Development recently ranked the city's rental rehabilitation program as the 10th-best in the nation among more than 500 programs.
The program provides loans at 5 percent interest to landlords to cover half the cost of refurbishing. Tenants of the building must have low to moderate incomes for a project to qualify for the loan.HUD will grant Provo $36,000 for the program in the 1991-92 fiscal year. The money will be used to fund additional rental rehabilitation projects.
