Two Salt Lake area high school juniors will study in Arab countries this summer as recipients of Malcolm H. Kerr scholarships.
Kristin A. Carver, a Cottonwood High School student, will go to Egypt to study, under sponsorship of the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations.Autumn A. Ovalle will spend her summer study time in Tunisia. She is a student at Hunter High School, West Valley City.
The Utahns were among 18 in the United States who received the scholarships. The program is aimed at helping American youths better understand the Arab world and the need for understanding and friendship among nations.
