Lucie Arnaz told residents of Jamestown, N.Y., during the weekend that her mother, Lucille Ball, would have been "thrilled" with accepting an honorary degree from the local college. Arnaz came to the legendary comedienne's birthplace Saturday to accept an honorary fine arts degree from Jamestown Community College at the school's 41st commencement. Ball planned to return two years ago to the city of her childhood, but died a few weeks before the trip. "For years she talked about showing me Jamestown," Arnaz recalled, wiping away a tear. "But somehow, between my children and my career and her busy life, we never got around to it."
