The first 66 of nearly 400 Vietnamese boat people returning home voluntarily in the next two weeks left for Vietnam Monday, an official of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said.

The official said the first group of 66 people left Bangkok for Ho Chi Minh City Monday with 331 others due to leave by June 4.The UNHCR official said all 397 Vietnamese volunteered to return home, giving up hopes of resettlement in the West.
