State police questioned a former beauty queen and a police officer in an investigation of Sen. Charles S. Robb and his associates, authorities said Saturday.
Police investigators talked to Tai Collins, a former Miss Virginia-USA who said she had an affair with the Virginia Democrat while he was governor. They also talked to Virginia Beach police officer Gary Van Auken."The inquiry has been narrowly focused on allegations of a personal threat or intimidation and whether these have been reported to police," state police spokesman Charles Vaughan said Saturday.
Vaughan said the inquiry "has not gone beyond the interview of two complainants on these specific issues."
Robb, Virginia's governor from 1982-86 and a senator since in 1989, has denied having a sexual affair with Collins.
