A Hillcrest High School senior has been arrested and referred to juvenile court in connection with a fire at the school last Friday.

The fire, which occurred in a restroom and involved a plastic towel dispensing machine, caused extensive smoke and forced evacuation of the building.A Salt Lake County Sheriff's report said a 17-year-old boy was taken into custody and charged with aggravated arson after two other students reported seeing the youth exit the restroom shortly before the smoke was observed. The student was detained at the school after the witnesses identified him among the students evacuated from the building.

Actual damage at the school was estimated at $100.
