Gary Gaetti, the Minnesota Twins third baseman who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Aug. 22, will remain on the bench indefinitely because of fluid around the knee.

Gaetti is expected to come off the disabled list today and was expected to return to the lineup in some capacity this week. But Twins physician Harvey O'Phelan said Sunday that the fluid that has been present since the surgery is enough to keep Gaetti sidelined longer, although O'Phelan doesn't think it's a longterm problem.
