Salt Lake County firefighters were summoned Thursday morning for the fourth time in less than 48 hours to extinguish a fire at the Olympus Care Center.
Ironically, Thursday's fire came a day after a man was arrested in connection with the previous fires. The center, located at 950 E. 3300 South, was "closed by order of the Salt Lake County fire marshal at 9 a.m. for at least the next 72 hours," said Lt. Dennis Steadman. "People were relocated to other care centers according to their needs. Hopefully, we'll have them back in 72 hours."
The intentionally set fire was similar to Wednesday's fire with flames erupting in a closet in the building early this morning.
Detectives arrested a man following Wednesday's fire at the center. Investigators said the 36-year-old man, whose name has not been released, lived at the care center and could easily set the fires because he did some maintenance work at the building.
According to Steadman, there are more suspects following the Thursday fire.
